We are coming out of Sheep Canyon which runs northwest to southeast. Great snow slides have swept large pine trees and brush from the canyons in their paths. This is the land of big trees and the waters from Sheep, Little Jett, Peavine, Wrango and scores of other canyons empty into Reese River. Subject: Reese River Valley - Clrence Gnevo and his pack trains loaded with deer obtained on two-day hunt in which Basil Crane, Noel Clark, Leo Funk and Clarence Byrd took part. Fat bucks and dry does were obtained on the hunt. An unusually dry year and excellent feed produced fat animals this year. Basil Crane, District Forest Ranger at right sponsored the hunt. Shorty (owned by Gnevo) at right carried me to the top of the Arc Dome Country for a fine three-day hunt. - Oct. 3, 1944 - C.E.B.
